Cape Town Guest House

The delicious thing about Cape Town, is the desire for freshness. Yes in style, but we're talking about ingredients, produce, spices. We pride ourselves on an ever-growing knowledge and sound advice, when it comes to food and wine. This is because we've tried and tried and tried again. There are many restaurants off the beaten path that deserve the recognition of others than just locals. Places that haven't been shown on the airplane when you flewover Table Mountain. Yes, the well-known in Camps Bay are very nice, but we can find lesser known places, not only full of character, but full of flavour. And what goes better with fresh fish or cured game from the Karoo than wine. We will send you out to any of the areas in the Winelands to suit your time schedules and preferences to red, white or even proper South African sparkling wine (which is just as nice as that region in France everyone talks about).

Aside from your lunch or evening experiences, try your palette out at some of our local markets, popping up in so many of our home regions. From fresh breads, flatbreads and potato sourdough, to herbs, spice-infused cheeses, and beetroot chutneys and quince jams. Try the rooibos or herbal teas, coffees, homemade desserts or seeds and nuts. All presented in so many different and inventive forms, you won't be able to stop yourself. Artisans and food novices display their creativity while providing the locals, as the locals in turn support their fellow men and women.

We have booklets in our rooms for you to peruse on your own time, to get a better feel of how we do things with specific names and areas of restaurants. No pressure, just our simple opinions of places that have been visited by our friends and family, and not to mention our guests. So if you're looking for a diamond in the rough, whether it be a real one, or a special restaurant for the special occasion you're celebrating while on holiday, ask us.
