Being situated centrally to all the hot spots in Cape Town, here are some suggestions to maximize your holiday:

Heard of the famous Sundowners here in South Africa? Well, being situated on the Atlantic Ocean, you are in the most ideal place to watch the sun dip below the horizon. Jump in a taxi and drive along the ocean for stunning views and continue on into the buzz of Camp's Bay. Have a caiparinha or watermelon martini at Eclipse, enjoy some sushi or fresh fish caught daily at the Codfather and then dance your way down to Dizzy's to listen to some jazz.

If you're a city person, you're only 5 minutes away from the hub of it all. Check out Long Street for a number of restaurant choices, from Spanish tapas, African game, Indian or Fusion. Although only one street over onto Loop Street is the very well known Madame Zingara's, where you can treat yourself to their chocolate chilli filet in a very unique and romantic atmosphere. Then head over to Kennedy's Cigar Bar for an aperitif or some live music.

Staying in the Green Point area, which is where our house is, you can easily walk to the Ritz-Carlton Hotel and enjoy an early cup of tea or some South African wines at the very top of the hotel, with 360 degree views overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and Cape Town. What an ideal place for a sunset! You can either dine at their revolving restaurant named Food Affair, or make your way down to Beach Road near the Mouille Point Lighthouse to Wakame Restaurant. Meaning 'seaweed' in Japanese, you can enjoy a wonderful seared tuna steak rolled in sesame seeds upon bok choy or their phenomenal lemongrass crème brulee for dessert.

And the option that allows you to stay in one place with a million things to do is the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront. Here you can catch a movie or an Imax show before dinner at the numerous options of all types of food from around the world. From reasonable prices and quantity to the utmost display of creativity and quality. Have a walk to the Clocktower for more shopping or experiencing the Nelson Mandela Museum, or simply to admire the boats in the harbour at the lavish Cape Grace Hotel. You cannot go wrong at the Waterfront.

And for those who want to simply stay here at Cheviot Place Guest House and sit in front of the fire in our dining room, we can order take-aways of your choice or offer you some of our wine from our own wine cellar. Whatever will make your stay in Cape Town the most memorable experience around.
